There is huge demand for ARLA, NFOPP or IRPM qualified residential property managers, and, in fact, not enough good property managers to go round. This is creating a situation whereby the best property managers often get two or three companies offering them positions and, in turn, this is pushing salaries up. We are encouraging our clients to not procrastinate and put their best offer forward if they see a property manager they wish to employ.
More graduate trainee positions within residential property management are available, but we still do not have many vacancies for candidates wishing to get on to a graduate APC schemes.
What can you do to get the job you want?
Get work experience!!
It is a fact that most companies want to take on someone who has previous experience in the role and as a minimum, an understanding of how a property management department functions. If you are able to get work experience then take advantage of the opportunity!
Relevant qualifications
The relevant qualification will always help. This could be ARLA, NFOPP, IRPM or RICS depending on which area of Property Management you wish to get in to.
Your CV
If you do have the relevant experience it may not seem important how you present your CV. Never underestimate the importance of correct spelling and grammar and good presentation of your CV.
