Assistant Development Manager
Deverellsmith has partnered with a specialist provider of professionally managed PRS housing.
Are you an Assistant Development Manager or Project Manager interested in PRS in single family housing? This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious development professional to join a rapidly growing business.
The role
- You will be responsible for the day to day management of numerous projects across the development portfolio, managing development partners and managing the consultant team as well as successfully delivering the units to the Lettings and Operations team.
- Effectively and efficiently managing the projects on site from acquisition through to completion.
- Ensuring the Operations team are kept updated on progress by updating internal systems and reporting regularly to key stakeholders across the business.
- Managing and monitoring project scope, time and cost.
- Reviewing specification at underwriting, acquisition and delivery stages.
- Processing stage payments in line with the contracts.
- Appointing required consultants for new projects, including Employer's Agents and Clerks of Works in line with their internal process.
- Attending regular meetings on site with the EA.
- Managing the EA and developer relationships to ensure opportunities for new business are available.
- Ensuring that the site team/project are adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Managing the performance of the developer and EA accordingly and escalating under-performance as appropriate.
- Building and maintaining relationships with housebuilder partners.
- Ensuring that performance KPIs are maintained and relevant teams are updated using internal systems.
- Manage and report on works undertaken on site to the senior team and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring all compliance handover documentation is retained and filed for the Operations team.
- Overseeing the handover process in its entirety, taking full responsibility for the final product received into the Operations teams.
What you need
- Knowledge of real estate development and construction processes.
- Working in a similar role for a developer or as a project manager for a consultancy.
- Outstanding customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A dynamic and driven personality with a strong zeal for the industry.
- Exceptional organisational competencies.
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously, confidently taking charge, making informed decisions, and initiating actions.
- Proficient in presenting and interpreting information accurately and professionally.
- A collaborative team player who can inspire and motivate colleagues, effectively achieving goals collaboratively.
- Innovative problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying issues and crafting effective resolutions.
