deverellsmith are delighted to announce that we have partnered with Newbridge Advisors to recruit an Associate to join their Development & Regeneration team to support continued business growth.

The Development & Regeneration team specialise in advising public and private sector clients on:

  • Development viability supported by high quality financial modelling and analysis
  • Delivery strategies for projects ranging from 200 - 10,000 home schemes, commercial joint ventures and mixed-use regeneration
  • Delivery structures including Master Developer delivery, Joint Ventures and Development Agreements
  • Funding and finance for development and regeneration projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising public and private sector clients on financial viability and delivery structures for residential-led and mixed-use regeneration projects
  • Developing business cases for public sector and private sector bodies
  • Advising clients along the development lifecycle, from inception through to financial close
  • Supporting clients to prepare development strategies, taking account of place-making and policy requirements as well as financial drivers
  • Working as part of a team but taking the lead day-to-day on projects and acting as the key client contact
  • Interpreting financial results into clear reports and presentations for clients
  • Reporting to clients at project and Board level
  • Providing the link between development teams and financial modelling to ensure that inputs are received, and outputs are understood by the client
  • Running scenarios in viability models e.g., updated accommodation schedules, changes to build costs and programme

Candidate Requirements:

  • Understanding of residential investment structures
  • Competent at working with financial models in MS Excel (models will be built by others)
  • Experience of major complex regeneration projects
  • Understanding of what drives public and private sector partners and different partnership structures
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of development in the UK including the town planning system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferably MRICS or MRTPI
