Position: Building Surveyor

Job Summary: As a Building Surveyor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance, safety, and compliance of our diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties. You will be responsible for conducting detailed inspections, providing expert advice, and managing various construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in building surveying and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of properties to identify structural issues, defects, and potential risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including condition surveys, building pathology assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Advise on building regulations and legal requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to develop cost-effective solutions and manage renovation projects.
  • Provide expert advice on maintenance, repairs, and property improvements.
  • Liaise with the regional executive in the preparation of specifications for major repairs.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations, emerging trends, and best practices in building surveying.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or a related field or qualified through experience
  • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, preferably in a residential and commercial property management setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.

Location: Croydon Office, however travel will be required between Birmingham to Bristol to cover the sites.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
