Job description

I am working with a commercial real estate developer, based in Greenwhich - as Client Accountant you will principally take responsibility for the asset management & financial operations relating to their newest development and other commercial property assets on the site.

This role will be part of the finance team, comprising of nine members, and will be involved in other areas, assisting the wider finance function as required. Reporting directly into the Financial Controller.

This role will work very closely with the wider teams, it is really important that this person is confident working within a team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a keen individual, looking to take responsibility and ownership of a newly established business, and become a key member of the finance team.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Setup and administer the life cycle of commercial leases from start to end in Qube PM
  • Setup and administer annual service charge budget and accounting, liaising across functions, particularly working closely with property and estate management team
  • Continually review processes and procedures, whilst implementing improvements to ensure best practice
  • Canteen - liaising closely with the external managers, administering money flows.
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager negotiate contracts as part of the budget setting process
  • Raising tenant demands for rent, service charge and ad hoc charges
  • Supervising credit control activity and arrears reporting, including chasing tenants for payment
  • Timely processing payments of operating expenditure and managing the approval process
  • Acting as the main point of contact with tenants for all tenant rent and service charge queries and liaising with the internal and external team, responding to queries
  • Working closely with the commercial leasing team, property and estate managers and finance department as required
  • Bank reconciliation of Client Account money and liaising with auditors annually
  • Journal entry and reconciliation between Qube PM and Access Dimensions
  • Regular review of the tenancy schedule and reporting to the business as required, actively managing the tenancy schedule and working with the Senior Leasing Manager to inform future planning
  • Service Charge budgeting, forecasting and BvA reporting, liaise with auditors re the annual service charge audit
  • General administrative duties, as required
  • Coordinating production and reporting of the monthly Commercial Asset Report
  • MRI Qube PM, prior experience of using this software is a distinct advantage
  • Access Dimensions accounting software is used to manage the rest of the business
  • Working closely with the Facilities Manager to procure and negotiate service charge contracts, in order to provide the best possible solutions for tenants. Ultimate responsibility for procurement rests with Facilities Manager, but the Client Accountant will aim to inform this decision and assist in collating relevant information
