Job description

Development Manager

Do you want to work for an established, integrated and multi-disciplinary organisation that has a track record of creating beautiful, award-winning schemes?

Our client is a leading SME developer of residential airspace in London and their strategic goal is to be at the forefront of innovation and sustainability in delivering housing.

This opportunity would suit someone who wants to progress and develop within a small dynamic team but also thrives on the opportunity to work autonomously.

What's in it for you?

  • Salary £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
  • 25 days annual leave plus half a day on your birthday.
  • A pension scheme with matching employer contributions.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Company laptop and phone.
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Participation in a company-wide employee share scheme.
  • High-end Central London co-working office space and flexible working.

The role

  • Drafting and maintaining project appraisals, budgets and programmes for the planning phase.
  • Briefing, appointing and managing a team of professional consultants.
  • Reviewing and interpreting planning policies for specific sites.
  • Liaising with architects to develop and review schemes that are commercially viable and facilitate pre-application and planning submissions
  • Working closely with the team members from Land, Delivery, Product and Sales to ensure schemes are designed holistically and within budget.
  • Quarterly reporting to the board of directors and project partners for sites in the planning phase of delivery.
  • Keeping abreast of the planning policy and political landscape.

Requirements

  • RTPI or MRICS qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Urban Planning or Real Estate degree or masters preferred.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in the UK planning/development field.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to assess the financial viability of projects.

We work as one

The key to growth is in our differences, not similarities. Alongside our partners, building a diverse, inclusive, and equal environment is at our core: everyone is made to feel welcome and encouraged to be their authentic self. Respect isn't an opt-in, it's the only way forward.
