Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the senior commercial team, project managers, and designers to understand project goals and requirements.
• Assist in reviewing architectural plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Learn to perform take-offs and gather quantities for materials, finishes, fixtures, and other project elements.
• Research and gather pricing information for materials, labour rates, and subcontractor services to support estimating activities.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor bids.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to gain insights into project scope and objectives.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database to enhance estimating accuracy.
• Assist in preparing clear and organized proposal documents with detailed cost breakdowns.
• Learn to effectively communicate and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and team members.
• Embrace opportunities for learning and growth within the estimating field.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong enthusiasm for the construction and fit-out industry.
• Basic understanding of construction documents and terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn new estimating software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external partners.
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
