Job description

We are working exclusively on behalf of a private property investor and developer based in the heart of London. They are looking for a qualified accountant interested in position that offers more variety than traditional Financial Accountant positions.

Boasting some exciting and unusual developments that they own and manage they are looking for somebody to support their Financial Controller as they continue to grow. They role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Ownership of financial and management accounting for their property portfolio, including tax responsibilities
  • Involved in any potential Group acquisitions and disposals analysing any lease costs, taxation, financing and inter-company transactions
  • Budgeting and cash flow forecasting including variance analysis
  • Audit preparation of statutory accounts including consolidations and reconciliations
  • Taxation matters such as corporation tax, VAT and CIS
  • Assisting in the implementation of new internal financial management reports
  • Develop strong systems and financial controls, setting best practice across the business
  • Supporting the Board in reporting on any asset management and development projects

Given the nature of the business they are looking for an individual that is able to demonstrate a strong team ethic and willing to support team members, both more senior and junior to themselves. In addition to this trait, they would like someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified accountant with 1-3 years PQE (ACCA or ACA)
  • Practice or real estate background
  • Ability to work cohesively with non-financial stakeholders such as asset managers and surveyors
  • Prior experience improving process and procedures within a finance function would be preferable but not essential
