Financial Controller

If you are interested in leading the finance function for a growing SME property investor and developer based in North West London with great success and growth over recent years. Due to recent company success, they are looking for a finance leader to drive the business supporting the MD in realising the potential over the next few years.

What will the role involve on a day-to-day basis?

You will be responsible for management of the accounting and finance function of two part-qualified accountants. Aside from the oversight of the team you will have a diverse range of duties including:

• Assisting the MD in assessing the viability of all potential future projects
• Ensuring regular reporting is provided and reviewed with the rest of the senior leadership team
• Take ownership of budgeting and forecasting for the company
• Improving system and processes internally to achieve maximum efficiency
• Prepare year-end accounts, liaising with the external auditors
• Production of monthly management accounts with the assistance of the wider team
• Act as a business partner across different department to maintain a collaborative environment

What are they looking for in their future Financial Controller?

Due to the nature of the business, they are looking for a qualified accountant with prior real estate or construction experience to lead the finance function. To be considered for this exciting position you will need to also have the following experience and exposure:

• Experience of working within a SME environment within a real estate company
• Ability to manage multiple entities within a complex company structure
• Prior experience business partnering with non-finance leaders to achieve company objectives together
• Knowledge of different processes and systems to implement best-in-practice procedures
• Substantial prior exposure to senior leadership teams in your previous positions
