Role: Financial Controller

Location: London, UK

Salary: £75,000 to £85,000

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Financial Controller. The Role:

As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation. You will oversee all financial operations, implement efficient financial strategies, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team and senior management, providing crucial financial insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.


  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis, identify trends, and present key insights to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during financial audits and reviews.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute financial expertise to support business growth.
  • Provide recommendations to optimise financial performance and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Financial Controller or a similar role within the real estate or property development industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, able to inspire and motivate a finance team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
