Job description

This role is working for an independent lettings and asset management firm, purely based in London. This is a new role due to recent growth, please apply if you have aspirations to become a Finance Director in a few years.

This role offers 2-3 days WFH per week, with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a small team of finance professionals, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to achieve their objectives.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyse financial data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Produce monthly management accountant packs, liaising with team members to meet deadlines.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Conduct profit and loss analysis.
  • Oversee and manage where necessary the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. General ledger duties will be passed onto the new Accounts Assistant, which will be recruited for.
  • Reconcile bank statements, track expenses, and prepare financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend changes as needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, forecast future financial performance, and recommend strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Provide support for the annual audit and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the Lettings and Property Management sector
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
