Job description

deverellsmith are working in partnership with a national Build To Rent operator to recruit a Maintenance Operative for their Leeds scheme.

This person will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, assisting the present team to carry out a wide range of basic maintenance tasks to ensure the development is ready for occupancy within set timescales.

Assisting in the delivery of front line services and maintaining a high level of presentation for every aspect of the development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all work undertaken is carried out strictly in accordance with supervisory instruction Guarantee all site safety protocols are adhered to and following all company Health & Safety policies.
  • Take a proactive approach to ensure that the developments are maintained to specified standards.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the building and building fabric, including repairs and redecoration as required.
  • Carrying out reactive maintenance tasks in occupied rooms with the focus being on customer service.
  • Act as the eyes and ears for the Building Manager for issues throughout the sites and ensure they are reported as required promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure that all external services, surfaces and traffic routes are in good order and fully functional to meet their intended purpose.
  • Record and monitor consumption in respect of each utility Spread grit on roadways, footpaths, car parking areas and other external hard surfaces at a suitable period of time to minimise the risk of surface ice or snow coverage
  • Attend to any spillages and other emergency cleaning requirements during working hours Escort and assist specialist engineers/sub-contractors attending site to carry out works as and when necessary.
  • Also supervise these contractors on occasion and ensure that the expected standards are met across all aspects of their work.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Essential Experience in a fast paced customer service environment
  • Ability to carry out basic maintenance and building fabric works
  • Experience of working in an environment in support of the main business function
  • A knowledge and understanding of electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Awareness of Health & Safety issues and the need for safe methods of working
  • Desirable Ideally electrical biased with a National Certificate or equivalent in this field or working towards such
  • Experience of working in facilities management Manual handling training
  • Customer service training
  • First aid qualification
