Senior Development Manager

Do you want to work for an independently minded property developer with a multi award-winning portfolio of some of Europe's largest urban development projects?

The role

  • Develop project development delivery programmes, and drive teams to achieve goals.
  • Oversee project governance including seeking approvals for recommendations.
  • Build project teams from internal departments to ensure the project can be managed effectively.
  • Required resources are to be agreed upon with relevant department directors.
  • Develop, maintain, monitor and report against, detailed development appraisals, programmes and budgets.
  • Identify suitable candidates, shortlist, competitively procure and appoint all external consultants, having had regard for the views and opinions of other department directors where appropriate.
  • Ensure the design of the development is progressively signed off internally at appropriate stages.
  • Ensure Construction Costs and Risks are accurately managed, monitored and reported through the development process.
  • Monitor financial planning of development with the project financial controller.
  • Develop a sustainability strategy aligned with corporate and project objectives; oversee implementation.
  • Manage Town Planning risks and negotiations in consultation with the planning team and consultants.
  • Manage all negotiations with external stakeholders using relevant internal/external resources.
  • Public consultation, engagement, and community events.
  • Consult with either commercial and/or residential departments to review sales and marketing strategy, tenant requirements, residential sales options etc.
  • Ensure project appraisal is accurate and reflects the current scheme.
  • Changes in appraisal resulting from design changes should be monitored and reported.
  • Coordinate project reports for review at the executive committee monthly meeting.
  • This report should encapsulate all relevant information from respective departments.
  • Oversee the Project during procurement and implementation phases to ensure aspirations are not lost in the transition from design and the project is delivered to the business plan's aspirations.
  • Ensure commercial tenants' requirements are met and the interfaces are managed properly.

What you need

  • Proven track record in Project Management of major projects.
  • Knowledge of Environmental and Social Governance.
  • Understanding of the commercial viability and key delivery elements of residential construction.
  • Broad experience in building types and development processes.
  • Knowledge of working within a partnership or joint venture structure.
  • Foster effective communication within the project team.
  • Team building and management.
  • Time management.
  • Round knowledge of the construction process.
