Senior Project Manager; Infrastructure

£65,000 - £70,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits

deverellsmith have partnered with the market leader in land assembly and compulsory purchase projects to source a Senior Project Manager. Our client works across all key infrastructure sectors, advising and supporting clients manage successful project outcomes, with consenting, construction and planning expertise.

The Senior Project Management position requires an individual to oversee and manage the delivery of fundamental deliverables on behalf of a client, this will comprise of routine management and delivery of major consent and land activities at varying stages of the project programmes life cycle. This individual will be joining a growing team, supporting the wider strategic and commercial growth alongside Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the commercial relationship with clients and varying stakeholders, including invoicing and budget management
  • Responsibility for the production and updating of strategies, project execution plans, reports and risks, costs, programme and quality metrics
  • Resource and manage various disciplines such as planning, legal, land, environmental and stakeholder management to secure consent, or maintaining compliance post award
  • Management of post award deliverables, ensuring compliance including discharge of requirements, commitments, conditions and obligations
  • Responsible for relevant workstream budgets, risk registers, programmes and KPIs.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Internal, external, residential, statutory or governmental as required; representing the client's project in various forums where necessary

Experience requirements:

  • Extensive project management experience in a complex, diverse project environment in consented construction works
  • Ability to recognise risks and opportunities associated with large-scale consent with appropriate mitigation and recording
  • Understanding of large planning consent such as a Transport & Works Act Order, Development Consent Order, parliamentary or Hybrid Bill
  • Track record of working with lawyers or legal matters, environmental issues and town planning consents
  • Experience of co-ordinating and managing a varied team of specialist consultant's, advisors and contractors.
  • Experience of planning and project management processes, compliance and tools and techniques (inc MS Excel, MS Project, ARM or equivalent)
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients and other internal and external stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all levels
