deverellsmith have been instructed to recruit an experienced freelance Site Manager to oversea a large-scale development, outside Oxford town centre. This is a chance to join a regional house-builder with a passion for creating exceptional residential spaces. The project is a mixture of traditional build and RC frame - we need a 360 site manager who can hit the ground running.
As the Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the team and ensuring the successful execution of the project, for the next 12 months. Your expertise in construction management and your ability to lead and inspire on-site teams will be essential to delivering a high-quality development on time and within budget.
This position is starting ASAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day on-site operations, supervising and coordinating all construction activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring that all works are carried out in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to foster positive working relationships and drive project progress.
- Monitor construction progress, reviewing schedules, and implementing effective strategies to keep the project on track.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and promptly address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Manage project budgets, reviewing cost reports, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising on quality.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the project management team, keeping them informed of project status, challenges, and achievements.
- Work closely with the design and planning teams to ensure the project adheres to specifications and contractual requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential obstacles, demonstrating problem-solving skills to maintain project momentum.
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative on-site culture, promoting teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to excellence among site personnel.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in large residential development projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of effectively managing on-site teams and liaising with various stakeholders.
- Organisational proficiency, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple aspects of the project simultaneously.
- A results-driven attitude with a dedication to delivering projects with the highest standards of quality and attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field will be advantageous.
