A prestigious national property management company is looking to hire a client accountant in their lettings accounts department.

The right candidate will have had a good track record working in a large team with big personalities and will be able to hold their own in a fast paced environment. A real “people person” will thrive in this role.
Must have lettings client account experience and the ability to deal with high volumes of client accounting. Someone who thrives in a busy environment would be ideal for this role. As always, attention to detail is key.

The office is based in the leafy area of South London so benefits from being away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

The role of the Client Accountant will include:

  • Monthly income / expenditure reporting
  • Weekly & monthly updates to the Department Manager on Aged Debt Reports produced by our software system.
  • Daily updating of our reporting system
  • To regularly check our internal coordinator system, CML, each day and respond to the queries generated (in house training will be provided for this process)
  • Responsible for a portfolio of lettings branches who have agreed terms of business with our client landlords
  • Processing of the daily bank statement onto our accounts system (rotated weekly)
  • The deregistration of deposits for terminated tenancies of non-managed properties on the TDS website
  • Update landlords with tax approvals and refund tax where appropriate, within given timeframe
  • Processing of direct debit payments receipts on the accounts system (rotated weekly)
  • Managing general client, tenant and KFH branch queries and where necessary liaising with the respective team members to establish accurate information
  • Inputting new tenancy details to our account system and liaising with front office branches where criteria has not been met to enable completion of this process
  • To input data onto the in-house database system CML
  • Production of standard correspondence to landlords and tenants
  • To act on instructions from front office or Property Management when processing payments of deposit returns to outgoing tenants
  • Liaising with landlords, tenants and tenant guarantors verbally and in writing, where rent arrears exist and securing settlement as soon as possible
  • Ensuring the departments Credit Control section is maintaining accurate Aged Debt procedure and policy.
  • Responding to all queries by voicemail and email in an efficient and timely manner
  • To answer main line telephone calls, fielding and directing calls as appropriate to team members
  • All filing of work processed to be completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Any other adhoc general duties as required from time to time

For this role I’m looking for somebody with the following skills and past experience:

  • Experience & knowledge in a similar role
  • Lettings Property market experience
  • Highly developed and confident communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and positive
  • Eager to learn and develop
  • IT Literate – database system, word, excel (vlookup and pivot tables preferable)
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Team player

The salary for this role is up to £29,000 depending on experience.
