Deverell Smith are searching for a Head of Operations on behalf of a leading Build to Rent operator. This will be a 6 months maternity cover.
You’ll be the person who runs the operations team, with responsibility for the strategic management of the rental portfolio. From planning the delivery of new assets, deploying (and evolving) approved systems to ensure they run smoothly, to managing the team of site-staff (they’re Property Managers, colloquially known as “Bobs”) with the help of Area Property Managers.
The role is based in a dynamic environment and we don’t want to be too set in stone about what you have to do, but the key areas of responsibility are:
Delivery of Excellent Asset Management
It is growing into a major portfolio, and its backers expect us to provide an exemplary Asset Management Service. You will be responsible, together with the Asset Manager and support teams, to deliver relevant aspects of Asset Management from planned maintenance scheduling to monthly investor reporting. The role includes:
Collecting the Rent
This is vital to the financial objectives. You will:
Managing the Financial Performance of the Portfolio
Inspections and Service Requests/Maintenance of Property
You will carry out a monthly inspection of each property to ensure:
Managing the Property Manager team/Continuing Education
Our team of APMs and Bobs are essential to our success. You will lead the team, developing their skills and enabling them to deliver a high quality service. You will:
Public Relations/Crisis Management
Aims to keep a positive public profile, but there will be times that managing a difficult situation is vital. You will:
Assisting the Managing Director in developing and growing the brand. This will involve being a brand ambassador with investors, helping with new business pitches, and evaluating new opportunities.
Carrying out such other duties that are within the capacity of this role as and when required by the Managing Director
This role would be suited to someone with Regional/ Multi Site experience within the Build to Rent, or Student Accommodation market.
