I have an excellent Senior Land opportunity available for anyone who is eager to work for a housebuilder who is motivated to buy sites and has available cash to spend. If you are an ambitious land professional who is commercially astute and a quick decision maker, this role could be perfect for you.

 

My client is based in South London and are looking for a Land Manager to join the existing team to help build their pipeline of sites. Your main role will be to find and appraise sites and opportunities for both planning gain and to build out within London and the Home Counties. The schemes they develop vary but typically will be private residential of c10-150 units.

 

This role would suite a Land professional who is; comfortable working autonomously within a broad role, is numbers focussed, enjoys engaging within planning, is driven to get out and do deals and would like to work in an environment that isn’t top-heavy. There will be opportunities for career progression and with a relatively junior team you will have the opportunity to manage and assist in growing the team.

 

Then role will include:

  • Site searching and identifying land opportunities within the region
  • Appraising all land for financial and commercial viability to meet the company objectives Commercial negotiation
  • Agreeing the terms of legal agreements
  • Building relationships with landowners, agents and other stakeholders to seek on and off-market opportunities
  • Assist in the development of more-junior team members in their management of medium scale planning applications.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external consultants to get sites through planning

 

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a strong track record of identifying and securing new land opportunities within London and or the Southern Home Counties
  • Experience in site acquisition with and without planning
  • Have a sound town planning knowledge
  • Have an extensive list of contacts and long-standing relationships with agents, site finders, site owners, institutions and local authorities
  • Be a self-starter with energy and drive with a mindset to succeed and deliver
  • Be commercially aware with excellent interpersonal skills
