My clients a well-established multi-office Estate Agency based around South East London They are looking for a bubbly, hardworking Accounts Assistant to join the friendly accounts team at their head office. You will be working in a team of 4 and will be reporting into the Finance Director.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow within an experienced accounts team.

Lettings Accounts experience is essential for this position.

The role of the will included:

  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Processing rent daily
  • Work closely with Property Management – query when tenancies need to be extended/when tenants are vacating due to end date on system
  • Query unrecognised transactions on bank statements and find where payments need to be linked to
  • Receive invoices from PM and front offices, log onto excel spreadsheet and charge to landlords accordingly (maintenance/inventories/gas safety’s etc)
  • Pay contractors weekly and send remittances
  • Reconciling contractor statements and chase for any invoices not received etc
  • Import new tenancies/properties onto system, making sure all details on start sheet is correct with branches
  • Making batch payments to landlords daily and uploading to HSBC
  • Making and authorising payments
  • Make cheque payments and banking of cheques
  • Liaise with branches
  • Refund overpaid rents/holding deposit if necessary etc
  • Calculating pro-rata rents and charging to tenants account
  • Checking & processing deposit releases – making deductions, paying tenants/landlords share and paying TDS if there’s a dispute (taking instructions from PM)
  • Sending statements to landlords and tax statements when prompted (self-assessment report)
  • Taking card payments via online portal (global iris) and issuing receipts
  • Manually creating invoices when needed
  • Dealing with overseas landlord tax and making sure the landlord has completed an NRL1 form
  • Assist with printing reports for the FD for month end account purposes
  • Understanding the importance of handling clients’ money
  • Filing where needed
  • Ad hoc duties

For this role I’m looking for somebody with the following skills and past experience:

  • Competent in the use of Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Experience with the use of LetMC/Agent OS preferable but not essential
  • Highly organised team player who can work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Eye for detail & accuracy
  • Good written & communication skills

The salary for this role is up to £30,000 depending on experience.
