Project Surveyor – Planned Maintenance

An opportunity has arisen with a large Housing Association based in Hertfordshire for a Project Surveyor to join the team working on planned maintenance projects.

The Project Surveyor will be operating planned maintenance programmes for the housing association property portfolio and assisting the Senior PM in the delivery of works and pre-implementation. This includes overseeing refurbishment works through planning and delivery stages, and to include structural, M&E (gas, electrical, lifts), component renewals (windows, kitchens, bathrooms) and fire protection works.

The duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Carry out quality control checks, snagging and defect inspections
  • Carry out all necessary inspections and checks to ensure work is completed in accordance with the specification, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Closely oversee performance of contractors and carry out any actions / improvements to performance as required
  • Work with your Senior Project Manager to carry out full consultation with customers on programme works, including fulfilment of all Section 20 requirements and ensure that all views are considered where appropriate
  • Deliver high quality customer service, fully liaising with residents and keeping them informed with prompt and diligent response to enquiries, complaints and feedback.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in agreeing valuations and completion of final accounts
  • Engage with the Cost & Performance Team to ensure that they are updated / informed of any non-standard works to make sure that all works are captured for programme and budget planning.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Experience of working within in a Planned Delivery Team in a national Housing Association.
  • Experience of delivering large programmes of planned works in dispersed locations to high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • A demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations and regulatory standards
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Commitment and skill in collaboration
  • Educated to HNC or equivalent level
