A Quantity Surveyor provides services that include all aspects of financial planning, procurement, contractual and cost management for building and engineering projects. A Quantity Surveyors expertise is involved at every stage of the construction life-cycle, from feasibility studies and development appraisals through to the final accounts being settled. Quantity Surveyors can hold a variety of titles such as: Cost Manager, Cost Consultant, Employers Agent, Cost Planner, Estimator, Project Surveyor and Commercial Manager. Candidates will have Quantity Surveying related degree and usually a professional qualification from either the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or the Chartered Institute of Builders (MCIOB). Quantity Surveyors can diversify their skill set in to more niche role, such as; Capital Allowances, Project Monitoring, Claims & Disputes and strategic procurement. We place candidates with consultancies, developers, house-builders, contractors and client side organisations, as well as in the public sector.
