Read a recent search project below with our Principal Recruitment Consultant – Celia Harker.

The challenge

Our client, a specialist surveying practice, had recently promoted their Head of Building Surveying to Managing Director, hence leaving quite a significant void in the team.

They needed to find someone with high-end residential experience, within a highly candidate-short market. On top of this, they needed a candidate who had the potential to grow and develop the wider business, specifically internal and external clients.

Due to the seniority of the role, they also needed the successful incumbent to have a degree of team/ junior management experience. For all these reasons, the client had limited access to applicable candidates.

The solution

Within this candidate short market, Celia utilised her wide and established network, existing relationships, referrals, and an in-depth market map of potential candidates.

Celia was sympathetic to the challenges that her client faced and came up with a short list of high-quality candidates, all of whom fitted the wide skill set and requirements given by the client.

The results

Celia was able to find an outstanding candidate that has now successfully joined the business and hit the ground running.

They have already contributed to growth within the business growing the wider building surveying offering and has hopes to add 4 more employees to their team as 2023 progresses.
