Assistant Accountant

Are you interested in working for a company with plans to grow in to a market leading developer and manager within the BTR sector. Headquartered in Birmingham, we are working exclusively to find an Assistant Accountant to join their rapidly expanding finance function.

You will be joining the business at an exciting time as they are about to embark on a journey to establish process, systems and procedure that will build the foundations for the upcoming years.

In this role you will be directly alongside the Head of Finance, your role will involve the following duties:

• Invoicing for the property portfolio and intercompany invoices (residential and commercial).
• Bank reconciliations and rental receipting.
• Processing of payments and maintaining master data within the system.
• Prepare and file VAT and CIS returns.
• Assist in the production of monthly management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments and accruals.
• Liaise with outsourced finance partners to support on all finance and accounting matters.
• Assist the Head of Finance with the annual audit.
• Working closely with property and asset management teams as the point of contact for finance queries.

The ideal candidate for this role will ideally have the following skills and previous experience:

• At least two years' experience working as an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Management Accountant within the UK.
• Accounting experience within the property / real estate sector is essential for this position.
• Experience using ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
• The role requires a quick learner with the ability to pick up new skills from the current Head of Finance
• You must have prior exposure to a fast-paced environment due to the growing nature of the business.
