Associate Director / Director - Development & Planning

Are you a senior surveyor or an associate director looking for a new challenge?

Deverellsmith has partnered with an international leading real estate consultancy to recruit an Associate Director or Director to work within their Development & Planning department. The ideal applicant will either be based in their Essex or Cambridge office, as a large proportion of their workload is focused within the Eastern region.

The role

  • This role will be directly responsible for assisting with the management of the Development team, winning and undertaking fee earning instructions to specified budget levels from both new and existing clients as a senior fee earner within the Residential Development team.
  • The role will be pivotal to the over team and delivery of the team's annual financial objectives, client care and business development programmes.
  • Undertake a full range of brokerage and professional services, advising clients on a range of development services including disposal, strategic land, consultancy, viability and town planning issues whilst working alongside other members of the team.
  • Provide a mix of agency, development consultancy and appraisal advice in the context of residential and mixed use development sites.

What you need

  • Ability to manage and develop people.
  • MRICS Qualified.
  • A business winner.
  • Highly literate and numerate, with an eye for detail and presentation.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Significant experience of dealing with residential development work.
  • Significant experience of disposing of land for residential and mixed use purposes.
  • Significant experience in dealing with all aspects of strategic land.
  • Experience of development appraisals of a range of schemes, including residential and commercial
