Job description

Our client, a hugely successful property developer and built to rent provider have expanded into the Private Rental Sector and are hiring a Commercial Services Manager into their new, PRS Repairs department.

As Commercial Services Manager you will work closely with the maintenance contractors to Cost Manage repairs and maintenance works, company wide.

Ideally you will already have a great working knowledge of the NHF Schedule of rates - with works ranging from re-painting to kitchen refurbishments and boiler replacements it will be your job to approve contractor payments, as well as checking quantity of works and producing annual cost reports to identify defect trends.

Breakdown of the purpose of the role:

  • To manage and approve all costs within approval limits relating to repairs and maintenance and void costs.
  • Applying a consistent approach to making sure that all costs are inline with agreed contractual terms and that value is being achieved.
  • Checking costs and the volume of works, making sure that the appropriate level of consideration is being given to all works.
  • Monthly reviews of operational / job level all expenditure to make sure that all costs inline with budget expenditure levels, where they are not making the right level of challenge and putting forward recommendations for recovering any areas of expenditure that are over budget.

Your background:

Recent knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates

Qualification (or proven by experience) in Commercial Cost, Finance, Construction or Quantity Surveying.

Good attention to detail, great on excel and number-savvy

Ability to communicate confidentially with internal team members and external contractors

Experience in identifying residential defects - social or private housing

Would be a huge plus if you have worked with a large property management company in the past!

In return you will be joining an ever growing and expanding business which can offer great opportunities to progress in the future as the role expands with the new division. Paying a salary of up to £45,000 based on experience.
