Maintenance Operative
Monday - Friday 9-5:30pm
£32,000 - £35,000
Location: Borehamwood - 2 days in head office 3 days on site visits.
Must have Driving Licence
Responsibilities:
- Undertake maintenance routines under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.
- Use equipment and materials efficiently.
- Work with team members and contractors to deliver high-quality service.
- Perform routine and proactive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, especially regarding fire doors.
- Follow Health & Safety regulations and conduct risk assessments.
- Have experience in building systems and maintenance work.
- Possess trade skills such as painting, basic carpentry, and understanding of mechanical/electrical assets.
- Work independently and make decisions when needed.
- Maintain a positive and proactive attitude towards work efficiency.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with basic computer skills.
- Completion of FDIS and IOSH training is desirable.
Maintenance Tasks Include:
- Provide general maintenance support and inspections.
- Record inspection results and routine maintenance activities.
- Report defects/incidents and take corrective action.
- Ensure maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard and recorded.
- Deliver clear inspection reports and recommendations.
- Provide excellent service to customers.
- Securely store and maintain tools for authorised use.
- Perform additional maintenance tasks as required.
Risk Management Tasks Include:
- Support risk management routines.
- Coordinate with teams and contractors for risk assessments and tasks.
- Complete risk actions and equipment testing, documenting results.
- Maintain detailed records of all actions and certifications.
