Role and Responsibilities:

As a Planning Manager, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of strategic planning initiatives for our client's diverse portfolio of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company's vision and objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to optimise land use, enhance project feasibility, and navigate regulatory challenges.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving planning regulations, zoning laws, and environmental requirements. Ensure that all projects are in full compliance with local, regional, and national planning regulations.

  • Project Management: Lead the planning phase of projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and within specified timelines.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, government agencies, and community groups. Represent the company in public hearings, meetings, and consultations to address concerns and promote understanding of projects.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to planning and permitting processes. Devise mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise disruptions to project timelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a Planning Manager role within the real estate or property development industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of urban planning regulations, zoning laws, and environmental considerations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in urban planning and project management.
  • Membership in professional organisations such as the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is a plus.
