deverellsmith have been instructed to find a highly motivated and experienced freelance Site Manager to oversea a small-scale development in the beautiful town of Ascot, Berkshire. As the Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, from inception to completion. Your expertise in construction management and your ability to lead and inspire on-site teams will be essential to delivering a high-quality development on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day on-site operations, supervising and coordinating all construction activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring that all works are carried out in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to foster positive working relationships and drive project progress.
  • Monitor construction progress, reviewing schedules, and implementing effective strategies to keep the project on track.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and promptly address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Manage project budgets, reviewing cost reports, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising on quality.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the project management team, keeping them informed of project status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Work closely with the design and planning teams to ensure the project adheres to specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential obstacles, demonstrating problem-solving skills to maintain project momentum.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative on-site culture, promoting teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to excellence among site personnel.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in small-scale or large residential development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of effectively managing on-site teams and liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Organisational proficiency, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple aspects of the project simultaneously.
  • A results-driven attitude with a dedication to delivering projects with the highest standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field will be advantageous.
