What is the role of a Development Director in the real estate and property industry? 

As Head of Development, you would oversee and manage all areas of a company's development initiatives. Working together with other departments, such as finance and construction, to ensure that projects are finished on schedule, within budget, and to a high degree of quality would be required.


Key responsibilities of a Development Director

Process management: Overseeing the entire development process, including feasibility studies, planning, design, construction, and handover to the operations team

Strategy: Developing and implementing strategic plans for the company's development projects, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives

Identify opportunities: Identifying and assessing potential development opportunities and making recommendations to senior management

Relationship management: Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors, architects, and consultants


Main requirements of a Development Director

As the Head of Development, you would be responsible for guiding the success of a real estate or development firm. You must have good leadership, strategic planning, project management, financial analysis skills, and exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.
