Assistant Quantity Surveyor | Maidenhead | £28,000 - £42,000 plus package

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client, a leading and well-established housebuilder, renowned for their commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. With an extensive portfolio of successful residential projects, they continue to shape the landscape of the housing industry. Due to a number of upcoming projects and new developments the opportunity has come around to expand their Commercial team.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will work alongside the Commercial lead to support on market leading projects. Splitting your time between the lively office and the site offices themselves, you will gain real hands-on experience preparing you for progression.

  • Collaborate with the Quantity Surveying team to prepare accurate and timely cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Assist in the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor and track project costs, variations, and progress against budgets.
  • Conduct regular site visits to measure and value work completed, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly valuations and final accounts.
  • Support the team in resolving commercial issues, disputes, and claims.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quantity surveying and cost management.

You must have either a degree in Quantity Surveying or be qualified by experience, have strong numerical and analytical skills and be a well-rounded and organised individual.
