Position: Estimator

Location: London

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and procurement teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Analyse architectural plans, specifications, and other project documentation to accurately estimate materials, labour, and other costs.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs and cost estimates for interior fit-out projects, including all relevant elements such as flooring, fixtures, finishes, and furnishings.
  • Research and source materials, labour rates, and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in estimates.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to clarify project scope and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database to support accurate estimating for future projects.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to review supplier/subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive proposal documents outlining cost breakdowns, assumptions, and justifications for clients.
  • Stay current with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and construction methodologies to enhance estimating accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the fit-out industry.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools and a strong grasp of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in cost estimation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and industry trends.
