Are you looking for a role which offers you the opportunity to grow your own finance function within a business that is primed for exceptional growth over the coming years? In this role you will have help shape the company and, with the support of the Group CFO and Operations Director, ensure it achieves its goals.

The build-to-rent sector is widely regarded as the most desirable asset classes in the UK and, with the funding support of a JV partner, the pipeline of developments will offer fantastic progression and long-term prospects for the successful applicant.

Headquartered in Birmingham, the company is looking to hire a commercially minded and process-driven Head of Finance tasked with the following objectives:

  • In-source the entire accounting function over next few years, bringing the reporting, analysis and transactional accounting in-house, it is currently outsourced
  • Develop a best-in-class reporting process that ensures speed and quality of information
  • Build an accounting function capable of handling a hyper-growth environment
  • Provide reliable and accurate data and analysis that will help the company to achieve its KPI's
  • Business partner with the Operations Director and all department heads to help support the wider business
  • Embed processes and procedures including system implementation that will provide the platform for future growth
  • Review and improve internal controls and processes on a regular basis to maintain efficiency

This is an exciting opportunity for the chosen applicant to develop a career within a business that will very quickly become a leading real estate business in the UK. The successful candidate will need the following experience and exposure:

  • Real estate experience is essential, ideally within a growing company
  • Track record setting up process and procedure within an accounting function is a prerequisite for this position
  • You must be a qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience (CIMA / ACA / ACCA)
  • Exposure to reporting requirements for a publicly listed company would be ideal
  • Solid experience implementing an ERP system is strongly desired
  • Commercial business acumen is critical given the exposure to senior stakeholders within the position
