Are you an experienced Construction professional able to effectively manage multiple construction sites at once?

deverellsmith have partnered with a successful developer who have built their reputation by developing and running a successful group of workspace buildings in London and the south. Due to this individual being busy securing other work in office space, and retail, - they are now ready to take on a construction professional to oversee the continued fit- out and maintenance of all old and new buildings.

If you have experience managing multiple construction fit-out projects, maintenance contracts, and enjoy working in a fluid and varied environment, then this could be an exciting opportunity for you.

As the Head of Projects will work very closely with the owner themselves to complete the future fit out and construction of work space office complexes, while also overseeing the constant revamp and maintenance of the current stock. This is role for a straight talker, who can communicate effectively with an owner who lives in another company.

What you need:

  • Strong work ethic, pro-active and a problem-solving attitude
  • High levels of organisational and time management skills with an excellent ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and report back to the owners.
  • Previous experience tendering for new contractors.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead on the development and implementation of the company's property development projects.
  • Provide project management capability in the delivery of property development projects from assessing feasibility through to construction and delivery of the asset.
  • Facilitate and manage the engagement of consultants, along with the development of design briefings and project proposals.
  • Develop and manage project governance and risk mitigations and plans.
  • Monitor construction programs, and budget and apply appropriate solutions to problems or make recommendations to management.
  • Ensure all operational services meet accreditation and regulatory requirements and deliver expected key performance indicators
  • Ensure the company complies fully with all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements for property acquisition, together with preparation for new legislation as and when needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Lead on the development and delivery of asset management, business plans and operational action plans where appropriate.
  • Continually improve people, processes and systems to meet customer needs, through innovative thinking, challenging existing working and management practice and being a visible change leader in support of the business aims.
