Back to insights

Read a recent search project below with our Manager - Temporary New Homes and Business Support

This multi-award winning, independent and hybrid estate agent, who offer a wide range of services throughout sales and lettings.

They were looking to fill a unique yet challenging role and partnered with Amanda Carrell our Team Manager – Temporary Specialist at deverellsmith. The challenge presented itself in the complexity of the role’s skill set, as they required an Office Manager with Marketing and PA experience. Due to the specific nature of the role, the candidate pool was small, meaning the client had less candidates with the right skills to potentially fill the position.

Amanda has been with deverellsmith for just under 2 years, and in that time has become an expert in the recruitment of temporary roles within the New Homes property market. Recently she has now been expanding her expertise to Business Support for all levels of support positions within the property industry. She has an established network of quality connections through the industry and has built long term relationships with both her clients and candidates, enabling her to give them both a high-level of service.

The project solution:

  • Provide an advisory service – With Amanda’s experience, she was able to advise the business on alternative recruitment options in the form of a temporary hire. This would help them cover some of the aspects of the role to support the wider business, until they found a permanent candidate to fill it.

  • Established network of temporary employees – deverellsmith has a vast community of temporary employees that have experience within the property industry that Amanda was able to approach. She searched the network with the key skills set required by the award-winning estate agency, to ensure the candidate could hit the ground running.

The result:

  • 48 search assignment turn around.

  • 100% shortlist to interview rate.

  • Temporary addition to the team turned into an extended contract to support the business, until the permanent hire was recruited.
