Estimator / Estimating Manager
Salary: £85,000 plus car allowance, bonus and package

An established property developer is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team in this newly created position. This role offers the chance to shape processes and contribute to the strategic direction of cost management across diverse development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial development projects
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
• Review and analyse tender submissions from contractors and suppliers
• Maintain and update cost databases and benchmarking information
• Support value engineering initiatives across project portfolios
• Liaise with planning and technical teams on cost implications
• Present cost reports and recommendations to senior management
• Monitor market trends and material costs

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating, ideally within residential or commercial development
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current market rates
• Proficiency in estimating software and advanced Excel skills
• Relevant construction-related qualification (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Construction Management)
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong communication abilities for stakeholder engagement
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence
