Salary: £27,000 - £32,000

About the opportunity
A well-established property management company is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their finance team at their Old Street headquarters. This entry-level position offers an accessible route into property finance for candidates from accounts assistant or bookkeeping backgrounds, with no prior real estate experience required. The role provides hands-on experience across receipt processing, bank reconciliations, and tenant account management within a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities
- Post tenant rental payments, service charges and receipts into property management systems with accuracy
- Conduct bank reconciliations, matching receipts to tenant accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain tenant account records, ensuring correct payment allocation and liaising with property managers
- Support client payover preparation and enter manual payments onto banking systems
- Process service charge receipts and coordinate with accounting teams for reconciliation
- Upload bank statements using cash management modules within TRAMPS
- Provide reconciled receipt data for month-end and year-end reporting requirements
- Assist with general bookkeeping tasks, invoice entry and ad hoc finance support as needed
Requirements
- Previous bookkeeping or accounts assistant experience (property management sector beneficial but not essential)
- Strong numerical and data entry capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Intermediate Excel skills including basic formulas and reconciliation functions
- Ability to manage high-volume, repetitive posting tasks accurately whilst meeting deadlines
- Professional communication skills for liaising with internal teams and tenants
- Methodical and organised approach to financial record-keeping
- Proactive problem-solving skills, particularly for payment mismatches or unidentified receipts
- Experience with property management software (TRAMPS, Yardi, MRI, Qube, Horizon) desirable but training provided
