Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor plays a key leadership role within the Commercial team and the wider Delivery function. You will take ownership of cost planning, estimating, procurement, and full commercial oversight across our Major Works and Hydrotherapy divisions, ensuring cost certainty, contractual compliance, and strong financial outcomes.
While your initial focus will be on strengthening our rapidly growing Hydrotherapy division, you will also help embed commercial best practice across the wider business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building meaningful relationships, and shaping commercial standards to support Innova's continued growth.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Core Duties
- Cost Planning & Estimating
- Develop accurate cost plans and estimates, ensuring full cost certainty at tender and delivery stages.
- Present cost build-ups to clients in a clear and credible manner.
- Assess drawings and technical documentation to prepare Bills of Quantities, schedules of rates, and associated tender documents.
- Procurement & Tendering
- Lead supplier and subcontractor tender evaluations with a rigorous and fair approach.
- Manage the appointment and negotiation process to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Post-Contract Commercial Management
- Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with JCT, NEC, and similar contractual frameworks.
- Monitor site progress, manage variations, and maintain tight cost control.
- Lead on claims, dispute resolution, and commercial risk mitigation where required.
- Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Share commercial insight to support decision-making across Delivery, Design, and Project Management teams.
- Influence and embed consistent commercial processes and best practice across the business.
- Coach and support junior team members, helping develop capability within the Commercial function.
- Represent Innova with credibility and confidence in client and supplier relationships.
