A UK-based project management and development consultancy currently recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support its growing project delivery workload across the built environment. The business provides advisory and delivery services to occupiers, developers, and investors, offering hands-on support from early feasibility and planning through to construction and handover.
The consultancy operates across commercial, mixed-use, industrial and logistics, and fit-out developments, delivering projects within a collaborative and professional consultancy environment.
Role Overview
The business is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager to support the delivery of construction and development projects across multiple sectors. This role is suited to an early-career project management professional looking to develop within a consultancy environment and gain hands-on exposure to live projects under the guidance of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support & Coordination
- Support projects across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Assist senior project managers with programme, cost, risk, and change control.
- Coordinate consultants, designers, and contractors.
- Attend, minute, and follow up on project and site meetings.
Client & Stakeholder Liaison
- Assist with day-to-day client communications.
- Support the preparation of progress reports and presentations.
- Act as a point of contact for consultants and contractors where appropriate.
Documentation & Reporting
- Assist in preparing project documentation including briefs, programmes, risk registers, and reports.
- Track actions, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Support procurement processes including tender documentation and evaluations.
Construction Phase Support
- Assist with monitoring site progress, quality, and programme.
- Support change control and variation tracking.
- Assist with handover, commissioning, and close-out activities.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
- 1-4 years' experience within construction, property, or project delivery.
- Basic understanding of construction processes and project delivery stages.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable
- Consultancy or client-side experience.
- Exposure to commercial, fit-out, industrial or logistics projects.
- Working towards or interest in professional qualifications (APM, RICS, PRINCE2).
- Familiarity with project programmes, cost tracking, or risk registers.
