Maintenance Operative (Part-Time)

Location: Winchester (Multiple PBSA Sites)
Hours: Part-time - 2 days per week (16 hours total, Friday and one other week day)
Beds: Circa 500 beds across multiple sites

Hintel are supporting a leading PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) operator in the recruitment of a Maintenance Operative to work across several student accommodation sites in Winchester.

This is a hands-on, part-time role ideal for someone with a broad maintenance skillset who enjoys working in a fast-paced residential environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out day-to-day reactive and planned maintenance tasks
• Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting/decorating works
• Responding to maintenance requests and ensuring timely resolution
• Completing room inspections, repairs and minor refurbishments
• Supporting health & safety compliance across sites
• Liaising with site teams and external contractors where required

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman or facilities role
• Good general maintenance knowledge (multi-skilled)
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Understanding of health & safety procedures (desirable)
