Project Manager - Developer (PBSA & Mixed-Use)
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 (dependent on experience)

The Opportunity
An established, privately owned UK property developer is seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale, high-quality purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and mixed-use developments across the UK.
Working closely with senior project and construction leadership, you will play a key role in the delivery and handover of multiple live projects currently on site and scheduled to complete from 2025 onwards. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware Project Manager looking to develop their career within a growing, design-led developer environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support senior project and construction leads in the delivery of PBSA-led and mixed-use developments from early design through to completion and handover
Assist in managing statutory, design and construction data, including costs, fees, programmes, budgets and Building Safety requirements
Support reporting on project progress, risks, programme and cost to senior stakeholders
Act as a client-side representative during design development (RIBA Stages 1-2) and through later project stages
Assist with consultant procurement, fee negotiations and appointment documentation
Support pre-construction planning, contractor procurement and tender processes, including PCSAs and main contractor appointments
Monitor contractor performance through site visits and progress meetings
Assist with Building Safety Regulator Gateway processes, Golden Thread information and compliance documentation
Support funding drawdowns, liaison with funders' surveyors and insurers
Assist with project handover, defects management and final account processes
Contribute to development appraisals, cashflow updates and value-for-money decisions
About You
You are an organised, proactive and detail-oriented construction professional who enjoys working collaboratively in a client-side environment.
Essential experience:
Background in a construction-related discipline (e.g. project management, quantity surveying, building surveying, architecture or engineering)
Typically 1-3 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role (developer or consultancy)
Experience working under JCT Design & Build contracts
Exposure to main contractor procurement, including PCSA and mobilisation phases
Working knowledge of:
Building Safety Act and Golden Thread requirements
Health & Safety legislation
Sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon considerations
Strong communication skills and the ability to work under guidance while taking ownership of tasks
Willingness to travel nationally for infrequent site visits and meetings
Desirable:
Progress toward or achievement of chartered status (e.g. MRICS, MCIOB, CEng, RIBA or equivalent)
Experience in PBSA, residential, hotel or mixed-use developments
Knowledge of S106, S278, S38 and UK planning processes
Commercial awareness and confidence engaging with consultants, contractors and funders
