The Role
My client is seeking an experienced Lettings Manager with a strong social housing background to take ownership of leasing activity across a Greater London portfolio.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and securing partnerships with local authorities and housing providers, driving occupancy levels and ensuring assets remain compliant, commercially viable and strategically positioned for growth.
This position requires full-time office attendance initially (with Mondays and Fridays mandatory) to support integration with the wider team and internal processes.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the end-to-end lettings process from instruction through to tenancy commencement
Identifying and securing new council and operator partnerships
Negotiating heads of terms and long-term leasing agreements
Managing and expanding a database of local authority and provider contacts
Coordinating viewings and progressing offers to completion
Collaborating internally regarding property readiness, compliance and required works
Ensuring full compliance with current lettings and social housing regulations
Maintaining accurate reporting and pipeline tracking via CRM systems
Contributing to the wider growth strategy for the social housing portfolio
Delivering a high standard of professional stakeholder engagement
Candidate Profile
My client is looking for a commercially minded lettings professional with extensive experience in the Greater London social housing market.
The successful individual will bring an established network of local authority contacts, strong legislative knowledge and a demonstrable track record of securing long-term leasing agreements. They will be target-driven, organised and confident managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate both independently and as part of a collaborative team are essential.
Required Experience & Knowledge
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable social housing lettings role
Strong working knowledge of UK lettings legislation and regulatory requirements
In-depth understanding of social housing compliance frameworks and HMO standards
Experience negotiating and securing bulk block or 10+ year leasing arrangements
Established professional relationships within Greater London local authorities (essential)
Proven ability to meet and exceed performance targets
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation capability
