We're working with a leading purpose built student accommodation operator to recruit a site-based Credit Controller for a large student accommodation property in Birmingham.

This is not a back-office collections role. You'll be embedded on-site, taking full ownership of arrears management and working closely with the operational team to drive rent collection performance.

A key part of the role involves face-to-face conversations with residents regarding outstanding balances. You'll need to be confident, professional and comfortable having firm but fair discussions in person.

The Role

• Managing the full credit control cycle in line with KPIs
• Proactively chasing aged debt and reducing arrears
• Conducting face-to-face arrears meetings and agreeing payment plans
• Preparing accounts for escalation to external debt collection agencies
• Producing accurate reports and supporting the wider site team
• Identifying process improvements to strengthen collections

About You

• Proven credit control/debt collection experience
• Confident and assertive communicator - able to handle difficult conversations
• Comfortable dealing with people in person, not just over email
• Organised, resilient and target-focused
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills
• Property or PBSA experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
