Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will provide accurate cost advice and strong commercial management across projects from feasibility through to final account. This includes involvement in major, complex developments, such as a £400m mixed-use scheme comprising 460+ units and a 30-storey steel and concrete frame building.
The role requires close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and with maximum commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and commercial objectives
Undertake feasibility studies and detailed cost planning
Measure and analyse quantities, costs, labour, and programme requirements
Prepare tender documentation, contracts, and bills of quantities
Manage cost control, risk management, and value engineering processes
Negotiate contracts, variations, and commercial agreements
Assess, value, and certify subcontractor works and payments
Produce regular cost, progress, and financial reports
Provide advice on contractual matters, claims, and disputes
Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and quality standards
Support project initiation, funding applications, and financial approvals
Contribute to business development and client relationship management

Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
RICS membership (or working towards)
Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience preferred
Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and industry-standard software
