Project Manager (Construction)

Location: West Midlands Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 per annum Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our growing team based in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a varied portfolio of construction projects across the living sectors, including Build to Rent (BTR), student accommodation, and residential developments.

Working from our West Midlands office, you will be responsible for delivering projects from inception through to handover, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a central role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and driving programme performance across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction projects across the living sectors, including Build to Rent, student accommodation, and residential schemes
• Oversee all stages of the project lifecycle - from feasibility and pre-construction through to delivery and handover
• Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project programmes, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and report on financial performance to stakeholders
• Coordinate and manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and supply chain partners
• Chair and minute project meetings, ensuring clear actions and accountability across all parties
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as required
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant legislation, planning conditions, building regulations, and health & safety requirements
• Prepare and present regular project progress reports to senior management and clients
• Support business development activities, including contributing to bids, proposals, and client presentations
• Mentor and support junior team members where required

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry, with demonstrable exposure to living sector developments (BTR, student accommodation, and/or residential)
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (NEC, JCT or similar)
• Solid knowledge of construction processes, programme management, and cost control
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, Asta Powerproject, or similar)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Full UK driving licence

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (desirable)
• MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM or equivalent professional accreditation (desirable)
