About the opportunity

This role sits within a well-capitalised, privately owned real estate platform investing in, developing and operating high-quality assets across the UK. The business takes a hands-on, asset-by-asset approach and retains full control from acquisition through to operation, creating long-term value through disciplined execution.

The senior finance manager will play a central role in leading financial accounting, reporting, controls and treasury across a diverse group structure, supporting ongoing growth and new investment activity.

This position offers genuine breadth and ownership. You will lead core accounting and compliance activity while contributing to transactions, funding and systems improvement initiatives. The role combines technical depth with commercial exposure, offering influence across the business rather than operating as a back-office function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and review management accounts across all group entities
• Oversee statutory accounts and audit processes, coordinating with external advisors
• Maintain strong financial controls across a multi-entity SPV structure
• Manage AP, AR, payroll journals and expense processes
• Oversee treasury activity, intercompany movements and lender reporting
• Monitor covenant compliance and support funding drawdowns
• Support transaction accounting, new SPV set-up and post-deal integration
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 5 years PQE
• Significant post-qualification experience in industry
• Strong background in group or multi-entity accounting
• Experience within real estate, property investment or development
• Proven ability to manage and develop a small finance team
• Strong technical accounting and controls knowledge
• Clear communicator with the confidence to challenge constructively
