Model Works was established in 1980 by architect David Murphy MRIAI, the current company chairman.
Encouraged by colleagues to explore design through scale models and later for the planning and marketing of property, the early company pushed scale model technology to its limits and was an early innovator in the use of specialist photography, and analogue lighting controls in models.
This avant-garde approach has seen the company lead the way in Architectural exploration and presentation through 40 exciting years to date and continues with its new generation of young talented professionals.
The Studio currently has 35 staff across offices in London and Dublin, and includes CG artists, programmers, model makers, architects and engineers. You’ll be amongst individuals who are absolute experts in their craft and who all share a passion for Model Works’ short- and long-term vision.
The Business Development Manager will report directly to David Murphy, Model Works Chairman and Founder, as well Karen Covella, Project Director for the London Studio.
Their expertise is supported by the latest suites of CAD, 3D modelling software, laser cutting and prototyping and 3D printing. We are relied on by leading property developers, architectural practices, brand agents and marketing and sales consultants to produce work of the highest standard from project inception, through the planning process and finally to marketing.
Model Works take pride in their internal culture, the company recently adapted to a hybrid way of working - employees can now work from home for 2 days per week– and are always seeking new ways to develop the business and invest in staff.
Being team oriented is highly valued at Model Works, even when employees are working on their own task the team like to collaborate and support each other to share ideas and knowledge.
To support the team orientated culture within the office, the company like to socialise together outside of the studio to encourage a way of team bonding. The London office endeavour to socialise at least once a week in a multitude of ways.
The studio hosts internal events every month with either an internal or external guest speaker, to drive collaborative knowledge and encourage professional development in an informal setting.
Due to the Model Works’ HQ being in Ireland, the London team have the opportunity to travel to Ireland for Summer and Christmas parties and for any additional relevant events.
