Head of Multifamily - Quintain

Who is the company? 

Quintain is a British-based property investment and development business, which operates through Urban Regeneration. They are the award-winning development and asset management team behind Wembley Park, one of London's most exciting new neighbourhoods. They are also the third largest residential developer in Ireland, with 9,000 homes in the pipeline across 460 acres of prime development land. During their 28-year history we have transformed assets into places where people want to live, companies want to grow, and neighbourhoods can come alive.

What was the situation?

Hannah was appointed by Quintain to find a Head of Multifamily which was a newly created role to support the expansion of the business in the Dublin BTR market.

 What was the challenges? 

The assignment began in the heart of the 2020 lockdown which imposed several challenges for Hannah. Due to restrictions, Hannah was unable to meet prospective candidates face to face and all interviews had to be held virtually. Additionally, build to rent is a less developed market in Ireland, so it was more difficult to find potential professionals with experience in the BTR space as it drew a smaller pool of talent compared to say London, which was requested by the hiring team at Quintain.

What was the methodology? 

To overcome these challenges, Hannah harnessed deverellsmith’s data and research function who produced a detailed mapping project, this revealed a targeted list of prospective candidates. Additionally, Hannah used her network to ask for credible referrals as well Linkedin Recruiter and advertised on relevant job boards.

In the space of 2 months - leading the assignment completely remote - Hannah was able to shortlist 6 candidates who were all offered an interview, Quintain then chose one the successful candidate to take the role.

What was the outcome?

Despite being new to hiring virtually, Hannah was able to fill the role successfully and efficiently.
