Head of Property Management - Hunters

Head of Property Management - Hunters
Consultant: Natalie Livesey
Role: Head of Property Management
Client: Hunters
Location: Stoke Newington

Who are Hunters?

Hunters is one of the UK’s leading estate agents with branches operating across the country. With over 200 branches now open in England and Wales, Hunters not only offer national coverage, but local expertise. Hunters’ success largely comes from its number one focus of providing excellent customer service, consistently achieving over 95% customer satisfaction - significantly above the national average for the industry.

What was the situation?

Hunters were seeking a Head of Property Management for their Stoke Newington business. To assist with the search, they had reached out to a few other recruitment companies, but they were yet to be successful in sourcing a candidate. Following this, Hunters chose deverellsmith to facilitate the search.

Were there any challenges?

The current talent shortage possessed a challenge for Natalie, along with having to keep within the provided timeline of 48 hours for the first set of CVs. This meant Natalie had to conduct a dedicated search online and on the ds database to headhunt the right talent rather than relying solely on applicants for her job adverts.

What was the methodology?

For Natalie to fill the role successfully, she set up a meeting with Emma – Director of Operations – to understand the role itself, the type of person she was looking for and to get a better understanding of the business and office environment. Natalie then set up a timeline with Emma which included having a shortlist across to her within 48 hours; feedback from the initial CVs the following day; first interviews booked in 48 hours later (online or in person if possible); and finally, feedback the following day with second stage interviews (if successful).

5 CVs were sent across and 4 of them were selected for first interviews however, these candidates weren’t quite the right fit for the team, so Natalie tweaked the search. Another 2 CVs were sent across and both had first interviews. Hunters was very happy with one of the candidates; they were taken through to the final stage and was later offered the role.

What was the outcome?

Emma from Hunters was so impressed with Natalie’s process and communication during the search that Emma then recommended Natalie to a colleague of hers from another Hunters office. Since then, Natalie has met with more Hunters offices and will potentially help to source 2 Senior Property Managers for them.
