You will find an efficient and organised personal assistant behind every CEO and Senior Partner in property. A PA or personal assistant’s job is usually on a one to one basis with a member of senior management and typically tasks will involve carrying out administrative work and organising busy schedules. PA’s are expected to quickly learn the way an organisation works and respond according to their objectives. A PA job can be extremely varied and the senior management team will impart a lot of trust in to a PA to ensure everything they output is of a high standard and treated with diligence and discretion.

Typical responsibilities of a personal assistant include:

  • Diary management and arranging meetings

  • Writing reports and creating presentations

  • Data and filing management

  • Attending meetings and taking meeting notes

  • Transcribing dictation and letter and email writing

  • Organising travel arrangements

  • Coordinating emails, letters and screening calls

In some organisations, PAs are also responsible for managing budgets and making decisions on behalf of the manager in their absence.To qualify for a PA job, applicants must have a solid commercial understanding of the property industry and come from an administrative background with proven skills in organisation, writing, excellent software skills particularly for Microsoft Office and the ability to work under pressure. Qualifications are not necessary but it can help to have professional PA training or qualification such as Quest Professional.
