Head of Property Management
Location: East London
Salary: Circa £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm (1 remote day per month)
The Opportunity
This is a genuine step-up role for an ambitious Senior Property Manager or Team Leader who wants to take ownership of a department, without losing touch with the work they love.
The business is a well-regarded, long-established independent agency with a strong presence in East London. With a close-knit team, a characterful shopfront, and deep roots in the local community, this is the kind of place where people actually enjoy coming to work. They're growing, and they want the right person to help shape what comes next.
The Role
As Head of Property Management, you'll take the lead on the property management function; managing a primarily residential portfolio with a small block management element, line managing one Property Manager, and working closely with the Lettings Manager, negotiators, and accounts team.
Crucially, you'll also have a seat at the table. Reporting directly into the founders, you'll contribute to the strategic direction of the department as the business expands, with real scope to grow your team over time.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the property management department and directly managing one Property Manager
- Overseeing a mixed residential and block management portfolio to a high standard of service
- Acting as the key point of contact for landlord and tenant queries and escalations
- Working collaboratively across lettings, accounts, and the wider team to deliver a seamless client journey
- Ensuring full compliance with lettings legislation - tenancy deposits, gas safety, EPCs, EICRs and beyond
- Managing maintenance and repairs end-to-end, from contractor liaison to resolution
- Contributing to the growth strategy of the PM department
- Making effective use of the tech stack: Street, Goodlord, Resident, Fixflo, and Cama
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Property Manager or Property Management Team Leader
- Strong knowledge of residential lettings legislation and compliance
- Natural leadership qualities - someone who can manage, motivate, and develop a team
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine client-first approach
- Highly organised, with the ability to juggle a varied portfolio and competing priorities
- Comfortable with property management technology
- Block management experience is desirable but not essential
- A connection to or enthusiasm for the East London community is a bonus
Why This Role?
- A genuine Head of Department position - real ownership, real influence
- Join at an exciting point of growth and help shape the department's future
- Report directly to the founders and have a voice in business strategy
- Close-knit, supportive team with a strong community culture
- Monday to Friday
- Competitive salary of circa £50,000
